Hi Jason!

Armstrong is a Class 6 county. We do not have any "Call of the List," and the District Attorney just lists all cases pending trial for Jury Selection every month. We have one Jury Selection day per month, and we can generally pick a maximum of 4 juries on that date. Our trial list is about 120 people monthly, so most of our clients know the deal by now (anyone who is not on the "short list" did not have CW subpoenas sent for their cases, so they just hang out in the lobby until around 11AM & then they get to go home. The DA will issue warrants for anyone who does not show up & hang out for 3 hours).

We do not have trial teams, as we do not have enough attorneys for that. I am FT and I have a FT First Assistant. My 2 Assistant PDs are both PT. The DA's Office here only has 4 attorneys as well (though all FT). We have 2 regular criminal judges, and 1 senior judge. I've been in Armstrong for a year & a half & I have not seen the senior judge be asked to sit on any jury trials, even when our PJ was out from knee surgery for over 2 months.

Best,
Liz

Colleagues,

I am requesting any information concerning trial terms from each county. How often you have a Call of List? If you have trial teams? How many attorneys per team/judge? How many criminal judges? Specifically it would be very helpful for counties who have more than 1 criminal call a month, likely 4th class counties and above. Thank you for any help you can provide.

Jason
