About five years ago we had a double murder with two high schoolers. I filed the request with omni attaching all the newspaper articles, links to the press conferences, links for the funeral contributions, prayer bracelet fundraisers, articles about prayer vigils, funeral notices etc.

I believe it is just local practice that you try to get a jury first. If you have good documentation that it would not be possible to get an impartial jury, I would file the pre trial motion.

We have a salacious double murder case and the client wants a change in venue. Our understanding is that we need to try to pick an impartial jury first. Is this correct? When is the right time for such a motion?
