Hello,
We have vertical representation here in Westmoreland. I have 14 assistants when at full staff. Two of those are juvenile attorneys. So my other 12, which includes 3 part time attorneys, handle approximately 290 new cases a year. We are averaging between 80 to 120 active cases at any given time per attorney.
Sincerely,
Wayne P. McGrew

For those of you using vertical representation, what is your average full time attorney caseload annually? I am just trying to get a feel of how our numbers compare in this new world of indigent defense with attorney applicants not beating down our door in response to job announcements. We average around 413 cases/year but my first assistant is steady with 460/year and I have had over 400 this year due to vacancies.
