Our Judges have also decided on a separate form to be reviewed at sentencings and revocations.  The Chief of Adult Probation and the AJ are working on the form but not yet in use.

Originally we were going to have to go over the entire form that probation usually goes over. They have rewritten it into a one page document. Thanks, Dave.  Nice Approach.  One of our Judges says we have to have “Koger hearings,” and then continues the hearing.  Just a way to keep people in jail longer.  Nicole

Just a heads up to everyone.

This morning at sentencing we were required to explain on the record and sign off on and attest to the reasonableness of a three page list of supervision conditions (many of which were clearly unreasonable).

After being apprised that we were going to conflict every revocation the court started backpedaling fast.

This was sprung on us without notice or a paper trail.  There is a practice order in Huntington requiring pretty much the same thing.  So this may be coming to a jurisdiction near you.
