Hello everyone,

We've had a couple name changes and other updates to the Chief Defender list, so find those updates attached below.  Note that as of 4/15 there will be an additional change, with Alan Tauber stepping in as the interim Chief Defender in Philly.  (ATauber@philadefender.org<mailto:ATauber@philadefender.org>).  If I've missed anything or if you have edits, please be in touch with me directly.

I'm also attaching an excel sheet that includes the information people circulated with starting salaries in various offices.  You'll see information here on a) starting salaries, b) whether folks are unionized (and if so whether they are in a union with the DAs), and c) whether there are part time PDs in a county.   I've only included self-reported data here- no outside attempts at research.  That means that the data is as limited as what people are willing to share.  I'd love to build this out further.  If you're willing to share, please email me either individually, off-list  or on this chain, with that information.  If I get additional information, I will re-circulate it.

One last thought.  I had a suggestion a few weeks back that PDAP start up a forum for newer Chief Defenders.  I'm envisioning a zoom meeting, maybe once a month, for any Chief with 5 years of experience or less, to come discuss administrative challenges and questions.  Are people interested in space like that?  Let me know.
