Let me rephrase:  Is anyone giving input to the courts as to whom it puts on its appointed counsel list?

 

 

 

Our conflict payments come out of the court’s budget.  The court will sometimes ask me for a general reference if they are looking for new counsel to replace one of the contracted attorneys.  Our conflict attorneys are assigned to a particular courtroom so each one gets every conflict for that courtroom/judge, unless, of course. they have a conflict.  In that case it gets assigned on a rotation.
